Privacy Notice
1. Who We Are
BFG Insurance Solutions is a DBA of Centaurus Enterprises LLC (collectively, “BFG,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). Centaurus Enterprises LLC holds California Insurance Producer license #6020392.
This Privacy Notice applies to personal information BFG controls through protect-mortgage.com, bfginsurancesolutions.com, BFG forms and systems, and direct communications about insurance information or services.
2. Notice at Collection
At or before collection, BFG provides notice of the information requested and its purpose. For the Mortgage Protection intake, the categories collected are contact and identifying information; age, gender, tobacco-use response, ZIP code, and optional mortgage-balance information; a required Code Word; consent and consent-evidence records; and technical or attribution information associated with the submission.
We use this information to receive and evaluate the request, verify and document authorization, determine whether the request may be handled in the applicable state, prevent fraud or misuse, communicate as authorized, maintain operational records, and measure approved marketing activity. BFG does not sell this information. Retention is governed by the criteria in Section 8 below.
3. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of personal information:
- Contact and identifying information: First and last name, telephone number, email address, ZIP code, and information needed to verify or service the request.
- Mortgage Protection intake information: Age, gender, tobacco-use response, optional approximate mortgage-balance range, and required Code Word.
- Consent and evidence information: Consent selection, the version and text of the authorization presented, submission timestamp, phone-verification status, TrustedForm certificate reference and verification results, and related audit records.
- Technical and attribution information: IP address, browser or device information, user agent, submitted URL, referral or click identifiers such as gclid, gbraid, or wbraid when present, and stable lead or submission identifiers.
- Follow-up and application information: Communications and CRM notes and, only when later requested and voluntarily provided for quoting, underwriting, or an authorized application, additional insurance, financial, beneficiary, or health information.
Sources: We collect information directly from you; automatically from your browser or device when you use a BFG site; from referral URLs or approved advertising platforms; from consent-evidence, security, and operational service providers; and from insurance carriers or other authorized participants when needed to complete a transaction you request.
During the 12 months preceding the “Last Updated” date, BFG may have collected the categories described above and disclosed them for the business purposes described in Sections 4 and 5. BFG does not knowingly sell or share personal information of consumers under 16 years of age.
4. How We Use Your Information
We use the information you provide exclusively for the following purposes:
- Receive, validate, route, and respond to an insurance-information request.
- Derive the applicable state from the submitted ZIP code and apply licensing, service-area, and contact controls.
- Verify the submitted phone number, retain and audit consent evidence, and prevent unauthorized contact.
- Contact you by the methods you affirmatively authorize.
- Provide insurance information, obtain quotes, or process an application you authorize.
- Operate and secure our websites, CRM, communications, and recordkeeping systems.
- Attribute and measure marketing activity only through configurations approved for BFG.
- Comply with applicable insurance, privacy, communications, recordkeeping, and legal obligations.
BFG does not use the Mortgage Protection intake for automated credit decisions. A submitted request does not guarantee eligibility, approval, price, policy issuance, or coverage.
5. How We Disclose Information
We disclose personal information only when reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Notice:
- Insurance carriers and authorized insurance professionals: To provide requested information, obtain quotes, or process an application you authorize, subject to applicable licensing and service controls.
- Operational service providers: Providers supporting hosting, databases, CRM functions, phone verification, email or communications, security, fraud prevention, and technical operations.
- Consent and evidence providers: Providers used to create, verify, retain, or audit consent evidence, including TrustedForm services.
- Advertising and measurement providers: Limited event and attribution data only when an approved BFG measurement configuration is enabled. BFG does not send the Code Word or detailed underwriting information for advertising measurement.
- Legal and regulatory recipients: When required by law, lawful process, regulatory examination, or reasonably necessary to protect consumers, BFG, or others.
BFG does not sell or rent personal information to third parties for their independent marketing. Before enabling any activity that legally constitutes “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising, BFG will update this Notice and provide any legally required choice mechanism.
6. Communications and Consent Choices
Submitting the form does not by itself authorize every type of contact. BFG contacts you only through the methods covered by the authorization you affirmatively select and only after applicable evidence and contact controls are satisfied.
You may revoke or limit communications at any time. A request applies to the channel you direct it to unless you ask for something broader: replying STOP to a text message stops text messages, and making the request during a call or using an unsubscribe method included in an email applies to that channel. You may also make an explicit broader do-not-contact request covering every channel, by emailing BFG Insurance Solutions or by telling a BFG representative, and BFG will apply it to the channels it covers. BFG will process revocation and opt-out requests as required by applicable law.
6.1 Phone Verification and Text Messaging
When you check the authorization on the Mortgage Protection intake, you authorize BFG Insurance Solutions, a DBA of Centaurus Enterprises LLC, to send a one-time SMS verification code and contact you about your mortgage protection request by live-agent telephone call, email, or text message (including automated text messages) at the phone number and email address you provided. Message frequency varies. Standard message and data rates may apply. Consent is not required to purchase insurance.
The current launch uses Twilio Verify for required phone ownership verification. Ongoing or promotional A2P text messaging is not active unless and until BFG completes the separate provider, suppression, Terms-alignment, and production-approval gates.
Text-message opt-out, help, and customer-care instructions are provided in the Terms of Use. You may also revoke or limit communications by emailing BFG Insurance Solutions or by telling a BFG representative.
Mobile telephone numbers and consent records are not sold, rented, or provided to third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes. They may be disclosed to service providers acting on BFG’s behalf solely to verify the number or operate, deliver, secure, and document authorized communications, and to legal or regulatory recipients when required by law.
7. Cookies, Session Storage, and Attribution
BFG websites may use browser storage and URL parameters to preserve a consumer’s current-session attribution information and prevent duplicate or unsupported conversion records. Approved analytics or advertising tools may be used only after their configuration and disclosures are authorized. Browser settings may limit some storage, but doing so can affect attribution or site functionality.
8. Record Retention
BFG retains each category of personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, to maintain reliable consent and transaction evidence, to support an authorized insurance request or application, to meet contractual and regulatory obligations, to resolve disputes, and to establish or defend legal claims. The applicable period depends on the record type, the status of the request or policy, and legal requirements. When information is no longer required, BFG follows controlled deletion or de-identification procedures, subject to legal holds and documented exceptions.
9. California Residents — CCPA Rights
Your Rights Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.100 et seq.)
To the extent the California Consumer Privacy Act applies to BFG or a particular record, California residents may have the following rights:
- Right to Know: You may request disclosure of the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the sources, the business purposes, and the categories of third parties with whom we share it
- Right to Delete: You may request that we delete your personal information, subject to certain exceptions (e.g., legal obligations, active insurance applications)
- Right to Correct: You may request correction of inaccurate personal information
- Right to Opt Out of Sale or Sharing: BFG does not sell personal information. If BFG begins activity that constitutes regulated sharing, the required choice mechanism will be provided before that activity is enabled.
- Right to Limit Certain Uses of Sensitive Personal Information: If BFG uses or discloses sensitive personal information for a purpose that creates this right, BFG will provide the required method to limit that use or disclosure.
- Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising any CCPA right
To submit a privacy request, email BFG Insurance Solutions with “Privacy Request” in the subject line. BFG will verify the request using information reasonably related to the record and will respond within the time required by applicable law. An authorized agent may submit a request when legally permitted and must provide sufficient proof of authority. BFG processes legally recognized opt-out preference signals as required when an applicable sale or sharing right exists.
10. Data Security
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. However, no transmission over the internet is 100% secure. If you believe your information has been compromised, please contact us immediately.
11. Children's Privacy
Our insurance-information services and Mortgage Protection intake are intended for individuals 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect information through that intake from individuals under 18. If you believe a minor submitted information, contact BFG using the business email below.
12. Changes to This Notice
We may update this Privacy Notice to reflect changes in law, technology, vendors, or business practices. The current version will be posted with a revised “Last Updated” date. When required, BFG will provide additional notice or obtain consent before applying a material change.
